Resell Engine

What it is

The Resell Engine is the set of offers and conversations that turn a finished client into a continuing one. A renewal package built from the existing program, a continuation for clients who want more, a downsell for clients who would otherwise leave, and a continuity option for graduates. Each offer lands at a milestone the dashboard already tracks, in a conversation the client success manager already has.

What we build

The parts.

  1. Offer design: what a client who reached the result wants next, priced and packaged from what exists.
  2. The renewal conversation: when it happens, who has it, the script, and the objections with answers.
  3. Downsell path: a smaller next step for clients about to cancel, so a leaving client becomes a smaller staying one.
  4. Continuity: a monthly option for graduates, with its own delivery standard so it does not become a forgotten community.
  5. Pipeline tracking: every renewal-eligible client, the conversation status, and the outcome, on the same dashboard.

What moves

The numbers.

  • Share of revenue from resells, above 30% at Video Business Academy.
  • Client lifetime value, from $4K to more than $50K at Video Business Academy.
  • Revenue that does not depend on ad spend. Acquisition Ace added more than $1M from upsells and resells in eight months.
Typical results
Results depend on the program, its price point and where retention starts. The figures on this page are from named engagements and are not a guarantee. Read the disclosure.

Procedure

SOP excerpt: Renewal conversation

One of the procedures in this system, as written for a client's team. Every SOP has a trigger, an owner and numbered steps.

Trigger

Client reaches the resell milestone, or is within 30 days of program end, whichever comes first.

Owner

Client success manager, with a coach for the offer itself where needed.

Steps
  1. Review the client's dashboard record: results reached, what they said they wanted at onboarding.
  2. Book a 20-minute call framed as a results review, not a sales call. Open with their numbers.
  3. Present the next step that matches what they said they wanted. One offer, not a menu.
  4. Log the outcome and the reason. Every no is a data point for the weekly review.

Questions

Asked about this system.

Will my clients feel sold to?

Not if the offer arrives at a milestone, from the person who helped them reach it, and matches what they asked for at onboarding. The renewal conversation is a results review first. Clients who reached the result usually ask what is next before we do.

Do you take a share of resell revenue?

Our pricing is a base fee plus a share tied to retained and resold revenue, set per engagement after the audit. We publish the models used across the lane on the how we work page, and we do not publish our own percentages.
