How it is used in a coaching business
Resell is an umbrella word. Most coaching businesses track renewals in one place, upsells in another and continuity nowhere, so nobody knows what share of revenue comes from people who already paid once. Putting them under one number, revenue from resells, makes the back end visible on the same dashboard as the front end.
- Renewal: the client continues the same program for another term.
- Upsell: the client moves to a higher tier or a more intensive offer.
- Downsell: a client who would otherwise leave takes a lighter, cheaper offer.
- Continuity: a recurring membership or mastermind after the core program.
- New offer: a product built from what the program's clients asked for next.
There is no published industry benchmark for resell rates in high-ticket coaching. The number a business can trust is its own, tracked monthly.
